Which litter boxes is Jarolis compatible with?

Jarolis slides flat underneath whether you use a traditional litter box or an automatic self-cleaning smart model. Available in three sizes (S, M, L), it covers approximately 95% of boxes on the market, including open, hooded, and top-entry designs.

I have multiple cats. Can it tell them apart?

Yes. Jarolis uses machine learning, digital signal processing, and patented algorithms to identify each cat by both weight and behavioral patterns — no collar or tag required. Up to 5 cats per device; for larger households, you can use multiple Jarolis devices.

How long does the battery last?

With 8× AA batteries, Jarolis lasts over 1 year under normal use. No cables, no power outlet needed — place it anywhere.

Does it work with USB-C power?

Yes. You can power Jarolis with your own USB-C cable and skip batteries entirely (the box doesn't include a cable — it ships with 8× AA batteries pre-installed and ready to use). With both connected, the system prioritizes USB-C and batteries automatically become backup — keeping the device running even if the cable is unplugged.

Is the app really free?

Yes, completely free — all features, unlimited history, no subscription, no hidden fees. We believe health monitoring should never be artificially restricted.

Which countries do you ship to?

During the Kickstarter campaign we ship to 39 countries: all 27 EU member states plus UK, Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Switzerland across Europe; USA and Canada in North America; Japan, South Korea, Australia, and New Zealand in Asia-Pacific; and Turkey. Additional markets will be considered for post-launch regional expansion. Specific shipping costs per country will be detailed on our Kickstarter page.

Standard warranty is 2 years, as required by EU law. Kickstarter backers get extended warranties: Super Early Bird 5 years, Early Bird 4 years, Kickstarter Special 3 years. Super Early Bird orders (first 100 units) also ship with a custom personalized glass print.

Will my cat notice it?

No. At just 3cm thin with a smooth tempered glass surface, Jarolis is virtually invisible. It doesn't change your cat's litter box experience at all.

Yes. All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and stored securely. We comply with GDPR and KVKK regulations. Your cat's health data is never shared or sold.

Can I share data with my vet?

Yes. The app generates professional PDF health reports that you can share directly with your veterinarian.

Can it tell the difference between pee and poop?

Yes. Jarolis uses digital signal processing and AI to predict bathroom type (pee, poop, or both). During the first few weeks you manually mark each visit in the app; the system learns from every correction and transitions to automatic detection over time. The more data you provide, the more accurate it becomes.

Can I share my device with family?

Yes. You can share Jarolis with up to 5 people. Shared users see all your cats' health data from their own phones — perfect for couples, families, or roommates tracking together.

I have multiple litter boxes — can I use a Jarolis for each?

Yes. Each device links to one litter box, and the app manages all of them from a single account. Veterinarians recommend one more litter box than cats (3 cats = 4 boxes), and placing a Jarolis under each ensures every visit is tracked — no matter which box your cat uses.

1. What are cookies

Cookies are small text files placed on your device (computer, tablet, phone) by a website you visit. They are widely used to make websites work, to improve functionality, to remember preferences, and to help site owners understand how their sites are used.

"Similar technologies" include local storage, session storage, pixels, tracking beacons, and device fingerprinting. This policy covers all of them even where we use the term "cookies" for brevity.

We classify the cookies we use into four categories, following the EU ePrivacy Directive and the UK PECR framework:

Note on the AI chat assistant: The chat widget does not set cookies or use browser storage on your device. It generates a temporary session identifier in page memory that is regenerated on every page load. The content of your chat messages and the session identifier are transmitted to and stored on our servers — see our Privacy Policy (Sections 2 and 7) for what we collect and how long we retain chat logs.

3.3 Analytics — active by default (cookie-free)

We use Umami Analytics, a privacy-friendly analytics tool that does not use cookies or track individuals. Umami aggregates anonymous usage data (pages visited, referrers, country, device type) and is permitted under GDPR as a legitimate interest without requiring consent, as it does not store identifiers on your device.

If you decline marketing or analytics cookies, Google services will run in consent-denied mode: no identifiers are stored, and only aggregate, cookieless signals (if any) are sent for modelling purposes.
